<image:title>Meet Amanda - I’m Amanda, and I’m glad you stopped by. I am an independently licensed therapist, with an LPC in DC, and an LCPC in MD. I have been in the mental health field for over thirteen years, with the majority of the last decade being spent providing counseling to students, faculty, and staff at Johns Hopkins University. My time at JHU has nurtured my love of helping individuals navigate personal challenges, as well as those related to work and academia. I have particularly enjoyed and have extensive experience working with the international community. I utilize a variety of therapeutic theories and techniques depending on the needs of the client, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, strengths based therapy, person centered therapy, and mindfulness.</image:title>

      <image:title>Home - About Amanda She/Her/Hers</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m glad you are here. Reaching out to find support can be the hardest step. It can be difficult to know how to move forward in your personal life, work, or academics when fear, anxiety, or depression are making you feel stuck. I often find that when one hits a crossroad in their life, it can sometimes bring stress, but also has the capacity to create growth and resilience. Whether it’s experiencing overwhelming feelings of loneliness, coping with a difficult boss or colleague, feeling imposter syndrome in your program of study, or navigating the loss of a relationship, having a nonjudgmental and supportive space to work on areas of growth can make all of the difference. I take a warm, engaging, and persistent approach with clients as we explore how to make sense of the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may be undermining your happiness and productivity. My work is grounded in an intersectional, culturally inclusive perspective, with respect to racial or ethnic identity, country of origin, physical ability, sexual and gender diversity, and religious and political affiliation. I believe that positive change most readily occurs when the right balance of accountability and self compassion is achieved. To that end, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can truly feel supported.</image:caption>
